Eight months in the past, the UK authorities made an enormous guess on nuclear, promising to treble the dimensions of the nation’s nuclear fleet between now and 2050.
Delivering on that promise would require enormous funding in each large-scale new nuclear crops and small-scale modular reactors. This follows years of presidency delay and prevarication.
Ministers on the time instructed the general public this push for nuclear was important to attain the UK’s goal to have net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
