Carina Nebula in pure colors

Picture of the Carina Nebula utilizing broad-band filters B (blue), G (inexperienced) and R (pink), attempting to realize pure colors (i.e. the colors we might see with our eyes).

For avoiding saturating the brightest a part of the nebula, solely 10s exposures have been taken, with a small “handbook” (*) dithering sample. 42 single frames have been mixed in every filter (7 minutes per filter).

The information have been taken at round 3am, Saturday 13 March 2021, from Siding Spring Observatory (close to Coonabarabran, NSW, Australia).

I used a ZWO ASI1600MM-Professional with the ZWO 2″ BGR filters, my new 7×2″ ZWO filter wheel, a Skywatcher Black Diamond 80mm with an Orion x0.8 focal reducer (efficient focal size 480 mm, f/6). I used the ZWO ASIAir to regulate the digicam, filter wheel, the mount (Skywatcher AZ-EQ6) and the guiding system (ASI120MM + Orion 50mm finderscope *).

The information have been processed with SIRIL, after which Photoshop for getting the colors. Darks have been used however not flats have been taken.

(*) Effectively, truly I didn’t use guiding: the ZWO ASIAir didn’t need to speak to the mount, and I needed to reset the mount a few instances as a result of, after doing the 3-stars alignment, the answer was fully unsuitable, as soon as it pointed me to the bottom to go to Canopus! After 3 hours preventing, very drained and chilly, I made a decision to do one thing fast not less than for saving the evening. This was it. I needed to do the dithering manually shifting barely the telescope with the keypad each 3-4 exposures. Dithering is VERY vital for eradicating additional noise / artefacts of the digicam.

PS: The astrometry of the picture might be discovered on this hyperlink. Effectively, truly I uploaded the earlier model I rapidly created, that had an excessive amount of magenta. However I wished to test a curious object within the picture, V* FU Automobile, a carbon star with magnitudes V = 11.2 and G= 12.4 en G, which means V-G = -1.2 magazine!
